Description
Our customers buy the FASCIQ® Sports cupping set – Trigger Point Cups as it is easy to apply and due to the plunger & inversion features a versatile Silicone cupping set. The Sports Cupping Set can be used for both Flash and Local Cupping therapy.
How Does Trigger Point Cupping Work?
Cupping creates a decompressive force in the tissues immediately under the cup (with a compressive force created around the rim of the cup). This lifting of the tissues can be a different stimulus to the tissues and the nervous system and for some people can be a relaxing way of treating tight or sore areas and static trigger points. It is the opposite of many other forms of manual “gliding” cupping therapy that typically create a compressive force such as massage, use of IASTM tools, or floss bands.

“FASCIQ® Sports Cupping Set – Trigger Point Cups
Great quality and buy for the money and it has helped me with back muscle sprains or just to relax after a long day at work or before I go to sleep. It became a part of my exercise routine and combined with stretching helps me to not be with aching muscles the next day and perform much better at the gym.”

How To Apply Sports Cupping Therapy?
- Determine Application Time: Most myofascial cups are applied for a few minutes at a time. However, areas of the lower body, such as the lower back and legs, can usually tolerate a longer application time. On the other hand, the upper part of the body, including the torso, neck, and arms, can achieve adequate treatment effects with a shorter application time.
- Watch for Bruising: Occasionally, a small round bruise may appear where the cup has been placed. This is less common in the lower body regions and occurs less frequently when using lighter suction (plunger method). While bruising is not the intended outcome of the treatment, it may occur more easily in individuals who are prone to bruising. Therefore, it’s advisable to start with shorter application times for such individuals to assess their tolerance to cupping treatment.
- Avoid Face/Head Area: Applying cups to the face or head area carries a higher risk of bruising and is generally not recommended. For these specific areas, it is recommended to use a facial cupping set designed specifically for facial application.
- Utilise Movement: The cups are designed to accommodate movement during the treatment. While the cups firmly grip the skin, they can be moved along the underlying tissue. Alternatively, you can apply the cups loosely to the body and perform movements with the specific body part to which the cups are applied. It’s important to note that when the cups create suction on the skin, the movement of the tissue underneath is restricted, allowing for targeted therapeutic effects.
